Restorative Justice

Beginning in the fall of 2021, Rice University will begin to offer restorative justice as another option for informal resolution of complaints. Parties will be able to engage in restorative conferences where the individual who was harmed and the individual who harmed can participate in a facilitated dialogue on how to best repair the harm that was done.

Restorative justice aims to help repair harm and strengthen communities by allowing individuals who were harmed to have a voice in how to address the harm done to them while allowing individuals who harmed to take responsibility and work to correct their wrong.

The following is the Restorative Justice Action Plan that the office of AEEO will undertake in FY 22.
